WeldWerks Brewing Co. Cancels 2020 WeldWerks Invitational on October 17

GREELEY, CO—After careful consideration and much sadness, WeldWerks Brewing Co. announces today that they will cancel the 2020 iteration of the WeldWerks Invitational scheduled for Saturday, October 17.

With stellar barrel-aged and specialty offerings from some of the best breweries in the country, the WeldWerks Invitational is known for providing beer lovers with an intimate experience that deviates from the traditional convention cup format. The brewery notes that the safety of staff, guests, brewers and volunteers, as well as the uncertainty of COVID-19 in October, led to the decision to cancel.

“It became apparent to us that even if it is safe to hold an event like this in October there would still be many necessary safety regulations in place. In our opinion, it's not worth hosting an event that will be anything less than a world class experience,” says Kristin Popcheff, Director of Operations at WeldWerks. “Trying to drink beer through masks, out of disposable cups six feet away from fellow festival goers just isn't the WeldWerks Invitational experience that we pride ourselves in providing.”

Earlier this morning, WeldWerks sent out emails to ticket holders with information on providing refunds. These ticket holders will also have the opportunity to purchase 2021 tickets in an online pre-sale next year. Questions related to your ticketing can be directed to events@weldwerksbrewing.com.

“It was a heartbreaking decision to cancel but we are trying to look on the bright side and, for us, that means 12 extra months of brainstorming new ideas on how we can take the 2021 Invitational to the next level,” says Popcheff.
