Presented by Asian Avenue Magazine, this highly celebrated food week that celebrates AANHPI cuisine is back for its second year April 28-May 4, 2024

DENVER (May 10, 2023)— After a successful inaugural run with Mile High Asian Food Week, a week-long celebration of Colorado’s growing Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) culinary scene, event organizers are pleased to announce that Mile High Asian Food Week will return April 28-May 4, 2024 to kick off AANHPI Heritage Month in May.

Mile High Asian Food Week is the brainchild of Joanne Liu, co-founder of the nonprofit Asian Girls Ignite. Liu, along with other community members like Annie Guo VanDan, publisher of Asian Avenue Magazine, launched Mile High Asian Food Week in February of this year as a test run—initially setting a goal of having 10-15 restaurants sign up; the inaugural Mile High Asian Food Week ended up with 50 participating restaurants and food purveyors.

“Honestly, from our humble beginnings of wanting to launch an Asian food week to share with others our culture and food, Mile High Asian Food Week has become so much more than that,” says Liu. “It gave our AANHPI food service community a chance to collaborate and swap stories with one another. For as much as we felt the public needed this we realized we needed this too.”

During Mile High Asian Food Week, diners can experience different AANHPI cuisines from participating AANHPI-owned businesses and receive insider perks such as secret menu items, specialty menus and discounts. The food week is a great way to show love to favorite local businesses or to try a spot that you haven’t been to before.

“The reception that we received, both from participating vendors and diners, have invigorated us to keep the food week going—and make it bigger and better,” says VanDan. “Our hope is to further the appreciation of Asian cuisines by encouraging community members to try new foods and learn about local businesses.”

Mile High Asian Food Week will take place April 28-May 4, 2024 to kick off AANHPI Heritage Month. Vendor registration for the 2024 Mile High Asian Food Week will open up on Nov. 1, 2023. Please check back on the website to sign up.

Event organizers are actively seeking bilingual street team members and other volunteers to support Mile High Asian Food Week; interested parties may sign up here
